The Swedish folks over at “Teknikensvarld” managed to obtain the clearest spy shots of the forthcoming Porsche Panamera that we’ve seen so far. While we still have our reservations for the Panamera’s appearance, we doubt that it can get any worse than the Cayenne. And don’t worry; the obtrusive rear wing you see in the images won’t pass into the production version which will probably get a retractable rear spoiler like the 911, Boxster and Cayman models. -Continued: Click “Read More…” below Porsche’s first-ever sports sedan is scheduled to be unveiled at the 2009 Geneva show, and it will take on the likes of Mercedes-Benz CLS, Maserati Quattroporte and the future Aston Martin Rapide and possibly, the BMW CS. It is expected that the Panamera will be offered with three front-mounted engines, set back to the centre of the car as much as possible to maintain a weight distribution close to the perfect ratio of 50:50. The entry-level version will be equipped with VW Group’s 3.6 FSI V6 unit upgraded to produce a little over 300Hp while Porsche’s own drivetrain will be a direct-injection 4.8-liter V8 petrol engine, available in naturally-aspirated guise and with twin-turbo developing 385 and 500Hp respectively.
