Did you know that the Nissan brand was absent from the Korean market? We sure didn’t. But anyway, that’s going to change shortly as Nissan Motor Company unveiled plans to bring the Nissan brand to Korea in 2008. Oddly, Infiniti has already been introduced in Korea two year’s ago. Nissan Korea Ltd. plans to set up a dedicated dealer network for the Nissan brand and will begin dealer selection in coming months. The first Nissan models to be introduced in the Korean market will be the crossover Rogue, the mid-size Murano SUV, and the Altima. -Continued after the jump

Colin Dodge, Senior VP, General Overseas Market, NML, said: “Infiniti has performed extremely well in the Korean market, rapidly becoming one of the leading luxury brands. With growing demand for import cars, it is the optimal time to introduce the Nissan brand. Korean customers have a keen appreciation of excellent design and quality while demanding top-notch service and competitive pricing. We believe our ability to deliver in all these areas will make the Nissan brand very successful here.”

According to Gregory Phillips, president of Nissan Korea Ltd., a separate project team analyzed the preferences of Korean customers to prepare for the introduction of the Nissan brand. “We will be able to use our success with the Infiniti brand as a guide in helping to make Nissan one of the leading brands in the Korean market,” Phillips said.
