Volkswagen came out with a “busty” press release today announcing that the VW brand managed to achieve a sales record the first seven months of the year. Between January and July 2007, the German automaker delivered a total of 2.11 million vehicles to customers all over the world, marking this period as the brand’s most successful first seven months of the year ever. Compared to the same period last year, VW managed an increase of 7.9 percent. “We have never sold so many VW vehicles in this period before. We look forward with confidence to the months ahead", said Dr Michael Kern, member of the VW brand board of management with responsibility for Sales and Marketing.
-Continued after the jump To top it all, July was VW’s most successful seventh month ever with 310,000 cars were delivered worldwide, an increase of 10.5 percent in comparison with last July.
According to VW, of the ten biggest individual markets worldwide for the brand, Brazil achieved the biggest improvement in sales figures between January and July 2007 with 261,000 cars, an increase of 30.6 percent compared to the first seven months of 2006. Brazil was followed by China, VW's largest individual market, with a plus of 25.4 percent (443,000 deliveries) as well as Argentina with an increase of 20.9 percent (60,000 deliveries).
