2009 Mercedes-Benz CLS C63 AMG Facelift

Mercedes-Benz handed out information and pictures concerning the flagship model in the updated CLS range (see here), the CLS 63 AMG which continues to use the 518 HP strong, naturally aspirated, 6.3-liter V8 engine. The CLS 63 AMG accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 sec, while its top speed is limited electronically to 250 km/h (155 mph).

Apart from the black-painted radiator grille with two louvres instead of the previous three, the new, 19-inch alloy-wheels (instead of 18 as before) and the new AMG sports steering wheel, the CLS 63 AMG also features a few mechanical changes. These include the sports exhaust system's redesigned rear silencers that promise to deliver a more menacing soundtrack from the two sets of twin tailpipes and the updated AMG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS 7G-TRONIC transmission which now incorporates a function which “blips” the throttle automatically during downshifts. -Pics after the jump
