VIDEO: 1970 Dodge Challenger Taken to Triple-Digit Speeds on the Autobahn

Now here's a dream come true: taking an old-school muscle car - in this case, a black 1970 Dodge Challenger - out on the Autobahn and winding it out. This bad-to-the-bone vintage ride appears to have been lightly modified or restored so as to not rattle to pieces, although there's no way of knowing for sure until the owner drops us a line (do it, 66PaleRider).

Whoever the driver is, there's no denying that the long-haired fiend has got a pair; pushing old muscle up to 130+ mph in any instance has been known to get a little shaky. The last time yours truly tried such a feat in the old Stang, I recall a trail of white smoke about a mile long and desperately seeking an off ramp (but man was it fun).

Repair results were better than expected, but the lesson was loud and clear: unrestored 289s have a bit of trouble getting up higher than 90 and shouldn't be pushed. In the case of this '70 Challenger, though, we see that's not really the case.

Enjoy the vids below, and if anyone knows some info about the car, send it on over. I smell a feature.

2011 Dodge Charger Facelift Shown at Police Fleet Expo [with Video]

Following on from some revealing reader spy photos and an official, single teaser image of the Pursuit car version of the redesigned 2011 (or 2012MY) Dodge Charger, we now have a walk around video of the facelifted model shot during the Police Fleet Expo.

The differences between the civilian and police versions of the 2011 Dodge Charger are limited to the decals and the necessary police car equipment, so what you see here in terms of sheetmetal changes is what you'll get when the sedan arrives in showrooms later this year.

The videos give us another look at the sedan's redesigned exterior that features a reworked and angrier looking front end with new headlamps and a fresh interpretation of the firm's trademark cross hair grille, as well as of the re-sculptured profile and the new rear end with a full-width tail light design similar to the Challenger.

In addition to the freshened exterior design, the 2011 Charger will also benefit from a revamped interior with a new dashboard styling and higher-quality materials, and an upgraded engine line up that will include the Chrysler Group's new Pentastar 3.6-liter V6, which is good for 290-horsepower in the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

Expect a full revealing of the 2011 Dodge Charger within the next few weeks.

VIDEO: 2011 Dodge Durango heads to Virginia Beach

Dodge came out this weekend -so it's still happening- and got involved with the common folks at a half-marathon in Virginia Beach. Officially, the event is called the "Dodge Rock 'n' Roll Virginia Beach Half Marathon presented by SunTrust", but really it was just a nice chance to show off the new Durango (fully revealed here) in action as the pace car/truck/crossover.

If the Durango is the face of things to come from Dodge, the brand might finally be competing with the big boys. Now, if the Journey could get a decent refresh (or a second-generation), Dodge will have a few crossovers to entice family buyers. Tack onto that the refreshed Charger and the upcoming Fiat-based Avenger replacement and we've got a Dodge lineup that could really bring in some customers.

There's a storm brewing between the Explorer and the Durango, and now that both have been detailed and released, what do you think? Check out the vids below for some dealer input and to watch the Durango representing itself out on the road.

Dodge Lets Out New Teaser Photos of 2011 Durango SUV

Not to be outdone by Ford and its marketing tactics with the 2011 Explorer, the Chrysler Group published a few more teaser shots of the upcoming 2011 Dodge Durango. These new photos come in addition to those released during an earlier announcement today on the launch of a dedicated website on the crossover model which is equipped with three rows of seats.

The new Durango makes the jump from truck-based to car-based crossover as it uses a stretched version of the unibody platform found under the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Though Dodge is keeping most details under wraps, the Durango will most likely be offered with Chrysler's new Pentastar 3.6-liter V6 delivering somewhere around 290-ponies and a 5.7-liter V8 with about 360-horsepower.

We still don't know where the crossover model will make its debut, but it is expected to go on sale in the States as early as the end of the year.

VIDEO: Dodge Mopar 10 Challenger Special in the Flesh

If one thing has come out of Fiat's involvement in the Chrysler Group the past year or so, that would be an abundance of limited edition models, the most recent being the "Mopar '10" Dodge Challenger. We've already shared details along with a single teaser sketch, but here's a video that shows the muscle-coupe (or at least parts of the car) in the flesh.

As a reminder, the 'Mopar 10' is based off the Challenger R/T with a 5.7-liter Hemi V8 featuring a series of cosmetic and performance upgrades. Only 500 examples will be built, with all of them coming in a black shade with blue, red or silver strips on the outside and matching accents inside.

Last Dodge Viper Rolls Off the Production Line [with Video]

It's the end of the line [at least for now] for one of the most recognizable and iconic American sports cars of the past two decades as the last of the current-generation Dodge Vipers "slithered" its way out of the firm's Conner Avenue plant in Detroit.

The final example of the 2010 Dodge Viper is a customized coupe model for D'Ann Rauh (second from right in the picture), who along with her husband Wayne from Arp, Texas, own more than 40 Dodge Vipers. The Texas couple own the largest personal collection of Vipers in the world.

Rauh's Viper is finished in a custom bronzed gold exterior paint supplied by House of Kolor, while unique interior features include various leather appointments crafted by Tony Spampinito from Venzano. The dark graphite five-spoke forged-aluminum wheels complete the package.

Production of the V10-powered Dodge Viper started in 1992. A next generation model has been rumored but not officially confirmed.

2010 Dodge Viper ACR to Debut at LA Show, Breaks Lap Record at Laguna Seca [with VIDEO]

The subtly revised 2010 Dodge Viper ACR, which is set to make its world premiere at next month's Los Angeles Auto Show, has set a new lap record at the Laguna Seca with a time of 1:33.915 as recorded by Motech in-vehicle data recorder (1:33.944'' as unofficially recorded by trackside clock) breaking the previous lap record of 1.35.117 set by a Devon GTX this past August. The 2010 Dodge Viper ACR was piloted by SRT vehicle dynamics engineer, Chris Winkler.

"It was definitely exciting but a somewhat uneventful lap overall from behind the steering wheel," said Winkler. "The Dodge Viper ACR has amazing power and handles like a dream, so following my first practice here last month, I came away pretty confident that we'd be able to set a new record."

In the final year of the Viper's production, the hardcore ACR, (first introduced in 2008), receives a series of upgrades including a shorter fifth gear ratio that changes from 0.74 to 0.80 for improved high-speed acceleration and higher straightaway speed, a new short-throw shifter and a redesigned rear wing to further optimize aerodynamics and improve rear yaw downforce.

Dodge says that these improvements result in an increase in top speed of 4 mph, to 184 mph (296 km/h) for the 2010 model.

There are no other changes for the Viper ACR that is powered by an 8.4-liter V10 engine with 600 horsepower and 560 lb.-ft. of torque, for a 0-60 mph (96km/h) acceleration in under 4 seconds, quarter-mile time in the mid 11-second range and 0-100-0 mph in 11 seconds flat.

Ralph Gilles, President and CEO, Dodge Brand and Senior Vice President, Product Design Office, Chrysler Group LLC, said that the company plans to release several special edition models during the last year of the Viper including a Laguna Seca edition to commemorate the record lap. All in all, around 500 Vipers will be produced in 2010.

VIDEO: D'oh! Edgy Driver in Dodge Viper GTS Slams Into Van

Now here's a nice educational video for all those annoyingly edgy drivers that weave in-and-out of traffic as if the road is an obstacle course. For whatever reasons, a Subaru driver in Chile was tailing / filming a bright-red Dodge Viper GTS on the freeway. The driver of the American sports car was swooping right and left to avoid the traffic when all of a sudden he exited a tunnel only to see that cars in front of him had come to a halt... Watch the video after the jump.

VIDEO: Giga Replica of 1950's Dodge Power Wagon, 64 Times the Original Size!

So what do you do when you have a ton of oil money, plenty of imagination and a passion for anything on four-wheels? Well, for starters, you go and buy any type of car your heart desires. Been their, done that. So what's next? The answer to that question for Seikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan from the United Arab Emirates who is also known as the 'Rainbow Sheikh', due to the fact that he once bought a fleet of Mercedes-Benz in every color of the rainbow, was to build a colossal working replica of a 1950's Dodge Power Wagon.

Created in the mid 1990s, this replica is an astonishing 64 times the original size and weighs in at about 50 tons! It is said to be the largest car/truck in the world. It's so big that it houses four large, air conditioned bedrooms, a living room and bathrooms. In fact it even has a 'terrace' in the pick-up bed! Although it was not designed to hit the road (apparently...) it does come with a 300HP GM diesel engine that helps it move around on its own. The video is from Jeremy Clarkson's Motorworld television series that aired on BBC back in the mid 1990s.

May the (U.S. Air) Force Be With You: Dodge Challenger Vapor and Ford Mustang X-1 Concepts

The U.S. Air Force has spent taxpayer money collaborated with Galpin Auto Sports, which is widely known through its involvement in MTV's Pimp My Ride show, to create customized versions of the Ford Mustang and the Dodge Challenger pony cars. Why, do we hear you ask? Well, the Air Force needed something a bit more spectacular than your typical TV ads to draw the attention of new recruits. The result is the air-force-inspired white Ford Mustang 'X-1' and black Dodge Challenger 'VAPOR' that will travel across the country this year.

The 'X-1' Mustang features a 'jet cockpit that includes a single-driver ejection seat placed centrally, short shifter, flight stick, and a high-tech instrumentation panel. On the outside, the heavily modded 'Stang gets a wide bodykit, dark alloy wheels and a pair of Lambo-style scissor doors. Power is provided by a custom 4.6 liter V8 engine with 500HP, courtesy of Ford Racing.

The more radical looking Dodge Challenger 'Vapor' continues the air-force theme with a 'Stealth' bodykit, carbon fiber exterior trim, a custom stealth exhaust mode that gives the driver the option to run the vehicle in complete silence, one-off carbon-fiber wheels, radar-absorbing paint, proximity sensors, and a 360-degree camera with a quarter-mile range.

Like its Ford counterpart, the Vapor's interior comes with aircraft style controls plus a passenger side steering wheel, GPS tracking, night and thermal vision via a film on the front windshield, and what Galpin calls, as the "most technologically-advanced computer system with remote control UAV-type access from anywhere in the world utilizing the internet."
