More Power Please: Väth Extracts up to 270HP from Mercedes C250 CGI

If you want your Mercedes-Benz C250 CGI to be faster and more "carbon-fibery", German tuning firm, Väth, has you covered with its latest package that includes cosmetic upgrades and a variety of modifications under the hood.

There are two levels of performance upgrades for the car's 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine. Priced at €1,200, the first kit bumps output from 204HP and 310Nm to 255 HP and 370 Nm. As a result, top speed is lifted to 260km/h or 162mph. The second stage, which includes a new intercooler (€1,186.60) and a sport exhaust system (€2,011.10), brings output to a more potent 270HP.

To improve the car's handling, Väth offers a height adjustable suspension and a more powerful braking system (€5,355) with 360mm discs and 6 piston calipers at the front and 320mm discs and 4 piston calipers at the back, plus a new set of 19-inch rims wrapped in 235/35ZR19 and 265/30ZR19 tires (€4,046).

Available exterior aero bits include a variety of carbon fiber parts such as a bonnet (€4,641), front lip spoiler (€1,416.10), rear diffuser (€1,773) and a boot lid spoiler (€332.20).

The C250 CGI's interior can also be revamped with Alcantra roof lining and a carbon fiber trim package priced together at €980.

VÄTH G55 AMG: A 680HP Mercedes-Benz G-Class at Your Service

There's something about the AMG version of Mercedes-Benz's timeless G-Class that makes tuners go haywire. This time, it's Mercedes-Benz tuning specialist, Vath, that has presented a fully tricked-out G55 AMG.

In stock form, the über G-Class is powered by a 5.5-liter supercharged V8 churning out a completely respectable 500HP and 700Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. After Vath gets its way with the V8 engine, output is lifted to 680HP and 800Nm (590 lb-ft) allowing the G55 AMG to reach a top speed of 265km/h or 165mph.

The German tuner has also fiddled around with the suspension adding new shock absorbers and lowering the 4x4's ride height by 35mm.

A new sports braking system with 390 mm discs and 22-inch alloy wheels shod in 295/35R22 Yokohama ADV ST tires round off the performance upgrades.

On the outside, Vath modified the G55 AMGH's looks by adding a hood scoop, a new front bumper with larger air-intakes, LED daylight lamps and Xenon units, a roof spoiler and a new pair of exhaust pipes under the rocker panels.

The vehicle's interior has been decked-out with leather, alcantara and carbon fiber applications along with a new sports steering wheel and revised instrument gauges.

VATH Supercharges Mercedes-Benz SLK 55AMG Roadster to 565HP and €126,000+

Another day, another tuning story. This time it's Mercedes-Benz specialist Vath that has unveiled the V58 which is based on the SLK 55 AMG. The stock model comes with a 5.5-liter V8 engine delivering 360HP and 510Nm of torque.

The increase of the V8 engine's displacement to 5.8-liters along with the addition of a compressor and a series of other measures including a new exhaust system and recalibrated ECU, just to mention a few, push output to 565 horsepower and 770Nm or 568 lb-ft. The extra kick in the pants allows the V58 SLK to top out at 310km/h or 193 mph.

Those interested will feel a similar kick in their pockets as the engine package alone costs a whopping €30,785 or about US$42,045.

Other performance upgrades include an optional a locking differential priced at €5,224 and what Vath describes as "its home-produced and patented fuel cooler" for an extra €2,070.

The list continues with a set of 19-inch alloy wheels in tires size 235/35 at the front and 275/30 at the rear, an adjustable lowering kit (-20 to 65mm for €3,677), high-performance brake system (€6,009), carbon front spoiler (€1,404), rear diffuser (€1,952), an interior trim package (€2,975) plus Vath's sports steering wheel (€1,416).

And yes, we did the math and the price for the complete conversion (not including the cost of the alloy wheels and tires that was not announced) comes out to a total of €55,512 (about US$75,815). The price of a new SLK 55 AMG in Germany is €70,745.

So, in other words, a new Vath-prepped SLK V58 will end up costing you in Germany €126,257 (equal to US$172,430 at today's rates), or close to €6,000 more than a spanking-new and in our opinion, much more desirable 2010 Porsche 911 GT3.

VATH ups the Performance Ante with New Mercedes-Benz E500 Coupe V50S

With 388 ponies from the 5.5-liter V8 under its hood, Mercedes-Benz's new E500 Coupe is by no means a slouch in the performance field, but that's not enough for German tuning firm Vath that has released a new proposal called the V50S.

Thanks to the recalibrated ECU, the addition of a sport air filter and a new sport exhaust system, the 5.5-liter V8 engine gets a jump from 388HP and 530Nm to 435HP and 575Nm (424 lb-ft) helping the German Coupe to reach a top speed of 280km/h or 174 mph.

A height-adjustable sport suspension that allows the driver to low the E500 Coupe's body anywhere between 20mm and 65mm and a high-performance brake system with 6-caliper brakes and 378 mm disks complete the list of performance modifications.

Vath's body kit includes a front lip spoiler, rear diffuser and boot lid spoiler, all made from carbon fiber, while the V50S rides on new 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in tires size 245/30 R20 up front and 285/25 R20 at the back.

The German tuner also outfits the interior with a variety of accoutrements such as special leather trim, decorative carbon fiber inlays, and specific floor mats.

Vath Lifts Performance of Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG to 745HP

German tuning firm Vath is upping the performance ante on the Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG once again with the release of a new package that increases power and gives the luxury coupe a more aggressive look. As if the standard Benz's 612-horsepower twin-turbo V12 wasn't already enough, Vath's engine kit lifts output to 745HP and a spectacular 1,150Nm or 848 lb-ft of peak torque.

The tuner claims that with this package, the CL65 AMG can go from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in just 4.0 seconds and reach speeds of up to 340 km/h or 211 mph. Even more impressive is the price of the kit that will cost you as much as a new C-Class at a hefty €36,890 or about US$53,100, including installation.

Other available performance mods include a sports braking system with 6 piston fixed calipers and 405 mm disks priced at €8,082 (US$11,600), 20-inch alloy wheels with Vredestein tires for speeds up to 270km/h or 168mph at €7,378 (US$10,600) and a lowering module for the airmatic suspension priced at €1,952 (US$2,800).

Cosmetic enhancements are limited to a subtle body kit with a carbon fiber front apron and rear diffuser fins, and boot lid and roof spoilers, which cost together €3,188 or about US$4,600.
