Protoscar to Show LAMPO2 All-Electric Roadster Concept at Geneva

A year after the unveiling of its LAMPO concept study at the 2009 Geneva Salon, and Protoscar is returning to the international Swiss motor show this year with a new take on its all-electric roadster study.

Aptly named LAMPO2, the two-seater model features a newly designed aerodynamic body that retains the previous study's rear wheel covers as well as a refreshed interior that boasts a large digital instrument panel.

More importantly though, the Swiss-based design company claims that weight, aerodynamics and the efficiency of individual components of the BRUSA electric drivetrain have been further optimized.

While the LAMPO's successor keeps the original model's two electric motor layout - one on each axle that allow the system to operate as a four-wheel drive with variable torque between front and rear axle, the total output of the electric motors has been boosted from 268HP and 440Nm to 408HP (300kW) and 640Nm respectively.

According to Protoscar, the new iteration of the LAMPO accelerates from zero to 100km/h (62mph) in just 5 seconds and 5 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 200 km/h or 124 mph.

In addition, Potoscar claims that it has further increased Lithium-Ion battery's capacity offering the roadster a driving range in excess of 200km or 124 miles.
