Jeep Adds Off-Road Camper Trailers to its Portfolio

Jeep and Mopar have teamed up to introduce a new pair of Jeep-branded off-road camping trailers that will be offered for sale in the U.S. starting this August. The designs of both the entry-level Trail Edition model and the Extreme Trail Edition are inspired by the Wrangler sharing many parts with the actual model including tail lights, wheels, fender flares and badges.

The Jeep Trail Edition camper is priced from US$9,995 and comes equipped with Wrangler Rubicon's 32-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires. Underneath, there's a unique torsion-bar and trailing-arm suspension.

Once the driver unfolds the diamond-plated aluminum top, which is capable of supporting 450 lbs of gear, the camper reveals the living quarters with 76 inches of headroom and enough space to sleep up to four people thanks to a sofa that folds out into a bed and a separate queen-sized bed.

The camper also features a stowable center table, a 110-volt power inverter, window screens and privacy shades.

Based on the Trail Edition, the US$11,995 Extreme version adds a heavy-duty frame, more ground clearance (15 inches instead of 12 inches), a full-underbody skid plate, black diamond-plated aluminum fenders and larger 35-inch BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tires.

Both campers may be ordered as Mopar accessories at local Jeep dealerships.
