VIDEO: 1,200HP Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport Filmed for the First Time

The ludicrously powerful Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport special may have set a new world speed record a couple of weeks ago at the VW Group's Ehra-Lessein proving grounds in Germany, but (apparently) the supercar is still being tested on normal roads. Our amigos from Diariomotor stumbled upon an undisguised example of the Super Sport hanging out with two more "standard" Veyrons somewhere in Spain and made good use of their camera and camcorder.

The Veyron Super Sport comes with four enlarged turbochargers and super-size intercoolers pushing the output of the 8.0-liter W16 engine to a mind-boggling 1,200-horsepower and 1,500Nm or 1,106 lb-ft of peak torque.

Even though the Super Sport was clocked at 431.07 km/h [268 mph] in Germany, the production model's top speed will be electronically limited to 415 km/h [258.1 mph] to protect the tires. The flagship Veyron model will go into production in a limited series this fall.
